  • The Opportunity

    Workhuman is looking for a Business Analyst to join the Finance team, working with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and financial accountants to better leverage IT systems for increased scalability and efficiency, and to reduce operational cost. In this role you will be responsible for reviewing and developing business processes, defining business requirements for IT systems-development teams, acceptance-testing of IT systems, overseeing systems adoption, and change-management.

    Workhuman manages its financials in Epicor ERP, and a core part of the role will involve finding ways to better leverage Epicor ERP to drive business processes and decision-making. Whilst the role is not predominantly technical in nature, a broad appreciation of IT systems technology is required, especially a working knowledge relational database technology, and data extraction and analysis using SQL.

    • Work collaboratively with Finance stakeholders, internal IT systems teams, product development teams, and external consultants to understand and deliver business solutions
    • Communicate across multiple business functions and stakeholders
    • Gather and analyze data from multiple data sources to support operational processes and decision-making
    • Review current work practices and propose alternative process and/or technologies that could benefit the organization
    • Assess the impact of business change, new product introductions, new regulations, and changing technologies
    • Understand challenges and needs of Finance personnel, and formulate both short-term (tactical) and long-term (strategic) solutions
    • Construct project plans and work with project participants to ensure effective and timely delivery
    • Collaborate with 3rd party solution providers/vendors (e.g. Microsoft, Epicor) to map business needs, formulate solutions, and oversee implementation of proof-of-concepts and final solutions
    • Validate solutions delivered to ensure they are fit for purpose (acceptance testing)
    • Provide guidance on process controls and business process monitoring (exception management, systems monitoring and altering)
    • Gather and validate data to support both internal and external financial audits
    • Support the development of executive dashboards to provide visibility into business performance and track progress on KPIs. Perform deep dives to discover underlying business drivers, segmental trends and shifts in business, or to trouble-shoot data anomalies (root-cause analysis 


    The skills you will bring:


    • 5+ years of experience in analytical roles, with 2+ years related to company finance (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Financial Accounting)
    • BA/BS with strong academic record, preferably in Business, Economies, Mathematics, Computer Science or Information Technology
    • Direct knowledge and experience of a company’s finance function (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Financial Accounting)
    • Experience with Microsoft Excel and SQL is essential (experience writing SQL reports is a distinct advantage)
    • Experience with ERP systems (Epicor experience is a distinct advantage)
    • Experience of business process automation (automating repetitive tasks, scheduling business activities, scheduled reporting, business process monitoring)
    • Knowledge of system integration technologies (exchanging data between systems, automation of cross-system business processes)
    • Resourceful and creative problem solver – proven ability to tackle complex challenges with limited resources
    • Willing and able to work on several projects concurrently, across multiple problem domains
    • Excellent communication and team-building skills; ability to package, translate, and present data to a variety of audiences and stakeholders
